I am a qualified Accountant with over 37 years of experience in the Asset and Vendor Finance Industry. Having graduated from Bristol University with a History Degree I started my career as a Trainee Accountant with Arthur Youngs in 1977 and then spent 2 years with KPMG in Hong Kong in 1983 and 1984. I joined Barclays Mercantile Business Finance in 1985 and spent the next 6 years as a Financial Manager and Controller. Between 1991 and 1996 I was the Financial Controller at Anglo Leasing plc which was ultimately owned by GEC UK at the time and then sold to the Woodchester Group in 1995. During this time I was closely involved with the first ever successful securitization of small ticket leased assets and the sale of “Anglo” to the Woodchester Group.
In 1996 I joined the DLL Group where I stayed for next 25 years. For the 1st four years I was the UK Financial Controller. Subsequently I have worked in International and Global roles. Between 2001 and 2003 I established the Healthcare Global Business Unit (“GBU”) in Europe which included the signing of Vendor Program Agreements and acquisition of leasing portfolios. For most of the rest of my time in DLL I was the Global CFO for the “Soft Assets” Business Units based out of Eindhoven. This included managing all financial aspects of the GBU’s on a Global basis and responsible for strategic planning for the Commercial domain in co-operation with the DLL Group CFO. I tailored corporate and external financial policies to the requirements of the GBU’s. I also managed and was involved in a number of portfolio and company acquisitions / sales.
I retired from DLL in August 2021 and have been with Invigors since February 2022.
Outside of work I am passionate about most Sports but in particular Cricket and Football although I am not an active participator any longer except for trying to improve my limited ability at Golf! I am a lifelong supporter of Liverpool FC. I also enjoy travel, good food and wine!
